Transport to or from Mongolia is usually by air or train. You can fly to Ulaanbaatar via Beijing, Huh Hot, Osaka, Tokyo, Seoul, Berlin, Moscow and Irkutsk. International flights operated by MIAT (Mongolian airlines), Aeroflot (Russian Airlines), Korean Airlines and Air China. In the summer season, MIAT operates charter flights to Hong Kong and Singapore; and Japanese Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) operate between Japan and Mongolia in the charter basis.

MIAT is the national flag carrier of Mongolia, which is responsible for 95 percent of all air transportation in Mongolia, operates scheduled flights overseas destinations. The majority of visitors arrive to Mongolia by air through Buyant Ukhaa airport located 18 km to the southwest of Ulaanbaatar.
